Finite Element Modeling of Auxetic Warp‐Knitted Fabric Made of Re‐entrant Geometry

Auxetic fabrics are those with a negative Poisson's ratio and have received increasing attention in recent years. In our previous study, series of auxetic warp‐knitted were developed based on re‐entrant geometry their effects experimentally investigated. Unlike weft‐knitted fabrics, the preparation production process very complicated time consuming. However, finite element (FE) method offers an efficient way to simulate predict behavior without conducting manufacturing experimental tests. Herein, FE study fabric structures is conducted. The models established from real compared results. It shown that variation trends agree well between simulation experiment. Although results slightly different ones, it still proves feasible for predicting using models. expected this research can offer useful model deformation providing guide design development more novel structures.
